studio-ceramic-horse-candle-holder
Studio Ceramic Horse Candle Holder

This beautifully odd studio-made ceramic horse has an expressive face, chunky hooves, textured mane and tail and a cream-and-earthy-brown body scattered with stamped flower motifs. A small green and blue glazed dish sits across its back, making the whole thing wonderfully hard to categorise — candle holder, tiny bird bath or simply part of the sculpture.

The dish has a rippled blue-purple rim with small applied decorations around the outside. These appear intentional rather than losses.

Size: 15 × 15.5 × 6 cm.

Condition: Good pre-owned condition with handmade irregularities and surface variation. The small applied decorations on the dish appear glued in place as part of the design.
