Released in 1999, Lego Star Wars X-Wing #7140 is one of the original sets from the first wave of Lego Star Wars releases. Representing Luke Skywalker’s iconic Rebel starfighter, it played a key role in establishing how Star Wars vehicles would be translated into Lego form at the beginning of the theme.

Built using late-1990s Lego design principles, the X-Wing features a simplified but instantly recognisable structure, reflecting an era before specialised parts and complex building techniques became standard. This straightforward construction is a defining characteristic of early Lego Star Wars sets.

As an original release, #7140 captures an important moment in Lego Star Wars history. Complete examples are increasingly difficult to find today, making it a strong cornerstone piece for collectors seeking early releases from the theme’s first year.

This set forms part of The Vault — Planet Retro’s most selective collection of rare, one-off collectible pieces.
