Planet Retro is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated retro culture store, trading since 2004. Many customers first discovered us through our physical stores in Εtaki and Petone β today we operate fully online, shipping nationwide from Upper Hutt, Wellington.
Planet Retro was founded by Diana, a lifelong collector and lover of vintage style, sassy fashion and the thrill of the hunt for unusual finds. She grew up watching Space 1999 and The Tomorrow People and coveted Wonder Woman action figures. These days she has a soft spot for ceramics, critters and creatures β from beautiful pottery to Predators, Aliens, Cthulhu and Groot! For many years Diana captained the Planet Retro mothership solo, building a store known for its eclectic mix of collectibles, vintage homeware and retro-inspired clothing.
Today, the bridge is shared with Oliver β a fellow child of the 80s and enthusiast of geekdom, sci-fi and all things retro. He joined the adventure five years ago when he and Diana met. He loves pinball machines, Star Wars and pretty much anything that goes pew pew pew. They recently married, and together they continue curating the kinds of pieces youβll find throughout Planet Retro today β the kinds of items they would happily have in their own collections and home. Diana loves him. He knows.

Some pieces are one-offs. Some are favourites we restock. All are selected with collectors, gift-givers and retro lovers in mind.
We blend vintage charm, pop culture icons and original Planet Retro designs into a store that feels less like a catalogue β and more like a rotating retro gallery.
